Hancom Group will start the Internet of Things (IoT) based shared parking service for the residents' priority parking lot in Gangnam-gu from July. Firstly, it will be applied to 1,300 parking lots unitl July of this year. IoT shared parking service of Hancom Gruop accurately informs the available number of parking lot in real-time and provides reservation and payment functions for a split-timed reservation, a day ticket and a commutation ticket. Hancom Mobility provides the IoT shared parking platform, 'Malangmalang ParkingFriends'. Malangmalang ParkingFriends is an IoT-based shared parking service based on radar sensor developed by Hancom Mobility. From July, drivers can accurately check if the parking space is available in real time and use the status of the parking space of Gangnam-gu residents' priority parking lots through the mobile app 'Malangmalang ParkingFriends' and another mobile app 'The Gangnam'. Parking fee is 80 cents (900 won) per 30 minutes. Payment can be used by credit card or Kakao Pay, and a phone payment service is also provided for residents who are in trouble with use of mobile apps. Gangnam-gu plans to resolve parking difficulties through this IoT shared parking business, moveover provide incentives and additional points for the next selection to residents participating in the loT shared parking program. An official in Gangnam-gu said, "We will install the IoT parking sensors on all 4,800 parking lots for residents until next July 2021 to be inconvenienced on using the parking lot." We will actively collaborate with Hancom Mobility so that we can be quickly settled in development of “An empathic administrative city, Gangnam,” with resident-centered communication policies for resolving parking complaints," he said. On the other hand, Hancom Mobility, which was selected as an IoT shared parking company in Seoul last year, has now signed up for business agreements with more than 10 district offices in Seoul, including Yeongdeungpo-gu, Guro-gu, Jung-gu, Songpa-gu, and Mapo-gu, as well as Busan Jin-gu, Busan-si Buk-gu, and Namyang-si.
